STOPLAMP Switch

CAUTION: Proper stoplamp switch adjustment is essential. Improper stoplamp switch adjustment may cause brake drag, heat buildup and excessive brake lining wear.
NOTE: Adjust the stoplamp switch and cruise control release switch at the same time. The adjustment procedures for the stoplamp switch and the cruise control release switch are identical.

Insert the stoplamp switch (1) and the cruise control switch (if equipped) into the brake pedal bracket (2). See Fig 1. Install the stoplamp switch and the cruise control switch (3) (if equipped) into the slotted grooves until the switches are fully depressed against the brake pedal, then turn the switches clockwise approximately 1/4 turn. The switches should now be installed and adjusted properly. See Fig 2. Inspect the stoplamps and the cruise control for proper operation.
