Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Removing/Installing CMP Sensor Mounting Bolt

    IMPORTANT: Before installing the camshaft sensor assembly, apply a small amount of clean motor oil to the O-ring (6).
  1. Install the CMP sensor assembly (2, 3) to the engine front cover.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the CMP sensor mounting bolt (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the camshaft position mounting bolts 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  5. Install the CMP sensor electrical connector (1).
  6. Install the generator assembly. Refer to Generator Bracket Replacement in Engine Electrical.
