Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Bussed Electrical Center (BEC)

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  1. Install the negative battery cable. Route the cable through the engine wiring harness junction block bracket to battery, main side rail, and BEC.
  2. Install the battery cable clip bolt (3).

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  3. Install the negative battery cable clips (4) to the wheelhouse liner.
  4. Install the negative battery cable terminal from the BEC stud.
  5. Install the negative battery cable ground nut (1) at the BEC stud.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  6. Position the negative battery cable to the engine.

  8. Install the negative battery cable ground bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  10. Install the negative battery cable terminal (3) to the stud.
  11. Install the negative battery cable ground nut (4) at the side rail stud.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  12. Connect the negative battery cable (1). Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure .
