Security Control Module Power & Ground Supply
- Check fuse No. 25 (15-amp) in power distribution box, located in engine compartment. If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is blown, repair short to ground in Blue/Red wire between power distribution box and security control module.
- Measure voltage between ground and input side of fuse No. 25 (15-amp). If battery voltage exists, replace fuse and go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open and/or short in wire between power distribution box and battery.
- Disconnect security control module harness connector. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 8 (Blue/Red wire) at security control module harness connector. SeeFigure . If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open in Blue/Red wire.
- Check fuse No. 3 (20-amp) in in-car fuse panel. If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is blown, repair short to ground in Gray/Red wire.
- Turn ignition switch to ACC position. Measure voltage between ground and input side of fuse No. 3. If battery voltage exists, replace fuse and go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open in Red/Yellow wire between in-car fuse box and ignition switch.
- Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 6 (Gray/Red wire) at security control module harness connector. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open in Gray/Red wire.
- Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 13 (Red/Gray wire) at security control module harness connector. If 10 volts or greater exists, go to next step. If less than 10 volts exists, repair open and/or short in Red/Gray wire between security control module and power distribution box.
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 8 (Black wire) at security control module harness connector. If resistance is 10 ohms or less, power and ground system is functioning properly. If resistance is greater than 10 ohms, repair open in Black wire between security control module and ground.
