Removal & Installation

WARNING: To avoid injury from accidental front seat side air bag deployment, read and carefully follow all WARNINGS and SERVICE PRECAUTIONS.

  1. While pressing headrest lock button, remove headrest. Tilt backrest forward. Adjust seat to full forward position.
  2. Remove bolt cover at rear of slide rail. Remove 2 bolts at rear sides of seat rails.
  3. Adjust seat to full rear position. Remove 2 bolts at front seat rails.
  4. CAUTION: Air bag system has a backup power supply. Wait for 20 seconds or more after disconnecting battery.

  5. Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect side air bag electrical connector under seat (if equipped). See Fig 1 . Disconnect seat heater and seat belt warning electrical connectors (if equipped). See Fig 2 .
  6. Remove front seat from vehicle. To install, reverse removal procedure. Install and tighten four slide rail bolts. Ensure smooth operation of seat assembly.
