Check Sedan/Wagon Identification Input Circuit

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE CHART

Step Check Yes No
1 CONFIRM VEHICLE TYPE. 
Confirm the vehicle type.
Is vehicle sedan? Go to step 2.  Go to step 6. 
2 CHECK CURRENT DATA. 
  1. Prepare the Subaru Select Monitor kit.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (engine OFF) and run the "PC application for Subaru Select Monitor".
  3. On the «System Selection Menu» display, select the {Integ. unit mode}.
  4. Select the {Current Data Display}.
  5. Select the {Identification SW input} and confirm.
Is "ON" displayed? Go to step 5.  Go to step 3. 
3 CHECK IGNITION CIRCUIT. 
Check the ignition switch circuit. Ref. to INSPECTION , Ignition Key Lock.
Is the ignition circuit normal? Go to step 4.  Replace the ignition key lock.
4 CHECK HARNESS. 
  1. Disconnect the harness connector of body integrated unit.
  2. Measure the resistance between the body integrated unit harness connector and chassis ground.

    Connector & terminal 

    (B281) No. 11 - Chassis ground: 

Is it less than 10 Ω? Repair or replace the harness. Replace the body integrated unit. Ref. to BODY INTEGRATED UNIT .
5 CHECK OPERATION. 
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
  2. LOCK/UNLOCK with the door lock switch.
Does trunk remain closed? Identification input circuit is normal. Check the trunk lid lock actuator. Ref. to CHECK DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR AND CIRCUIT , INSPECTION, Door Lock Control System.
6 CHECK CURRENT DATA. 
  1. Prepare the Subaru Select Monitor kit.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (engine OFF) and run the "PC application for Subaru Select Monitor".
  3. On the «System Selection Menu» display, select the {Integ. unit mode}.
  4. Select the {Current Data Display}.
  5. Select the {Identification SW input} and confirm.
Is "OFF" displayed? Go to step 9.  Go to step 7. 
7 CHECK IGNITION CIRCUIT. 
Check the ignition switch circuit. Ref. to INSPECTION , Ignition Key Lock.
Is the ignition circuit normal? Go to step 8.  Replace the ignition key lock.
8 CHECK HARNESS. 
  1. Disconnect the harness connector of body integrated unit.
  2. Measure the resistance between the body integrated unit harness connector and chassis ground.

    Connector & terminal 

    (B281) No. 11 - Chassis ground: 

Is it less than 10 Ω? Repair or replace the harness. Replace the body integrated unit. Ref. to BODY INTEGRATED UNIT .
9 CHECK OPERATION. 
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
  2. LOCK/UNLOCK with the door lock switch.
Does the rear gate lock/unlock? Identification input circuit is normal. Check the rear gate lock actuator. Ref. to CHECK DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR AND CIRCUIT , INSPECTION, Door Lock Control System.
