DTC B2779: Remote Control Engine Starter Collation
DTC detecting condition:
When any of the following is established upon the remote engine starter registration, or the remote engine starter operation.
- No response from the remote engine starter (including retrying).
- Code communication mismatch with the remote engine starter (including retrying).
Trouble symptom:
Remote engine starter does not function.
CAUTION:
Before performing diagnosis, refer to "CAUTION" in "General Description". Refer to KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .
- REGISTER THE REMOTE ENGINE STARTER.
- Perform the clear memory for «Keyless Access with Push Button Start» using the Subaru Select Monitor. Refer to KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>CLEAR MEMORY .
- Perform remote engine starter registration using the Subaru Select Monitor. (Refer to the "REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR IMMOBILIZER" provided as a separate volume.)NOTE: When the registration failed, refer to "Correspondence table when registration is not possible" in "REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR IMMOBILIZER" provided as a separate volume.
- Read DTCs of «Keyless Access with Push Button Start» using the Subaru Select Monitor. Refer to KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .
Is DTC B2779 displayed? (Current malfunction)
Yes: Replace the remote engine starter.
No: Even if DTC is displayed, the circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time. Reproduce the failure, and then perform the diagnosis again.
NOTE: In this case, temporary poor contact of connector, temporary open or short circuit of harness may be the cause.
