DTC B2779: Remote Control Engine Starter Collation

DTC detecting condition: 

When any of the following is established upon the remote engine starter registration, or the remote engine starter operation.

• No response from the remote engine starter (including retrying).
• Code communication mismatch with the remote engine starter (including retrying).

Trouble symptom: 

Remote engine starter does not function.

1. REGISTER THE REMOTE ENGINE STARTER. 
   1. Perform the clear memory for «Keyless Access with Push Button Start» using the Subaru Select Monitor. Refer to KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>CLEAR MEMORY .
   2. Perform remote engine starter registration using the Subaru Select Monitor. (Refer to the "REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR IMMOBILIZER" provided as a separate volume.)
      NOTE: When the registration failed, refer to "Correspondence table when registration is not possible" in "REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR IMMOBILIZER" provided as a separate volume.
   3. Read DTCs of «Keyless Access with Push Button Start» using the Subaru Select Monitor. Refer to KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .

      Is DTC B2779 displayed? (Current malfunction)

      Yes:  Replace the remote engine starter.

      No:  Even if DTC is displayed, the circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time. Reproduce the failure, and then perform the diagnosis again.

      NOTE: In this case, temporary poor contact of connector, temporary open or short circuit of harness may be the cause.
