Front Differential Assembly: Removal

- Remove the transmission assembly from the vehicle. Refer to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR690)>AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY>REMOVAL .
- Remove the air breather hose. Refer to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR690)>AIR BREATHER HOSE>REMOVAL .
- Remove the oil pan and control valve body. Refer to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR690)>CONTROL VALVE BODY>REMOVAL .
- Remove the transmission harness. Refer to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR690)>TRANSMISSION HARNESS>REMOVAL .
- Remove the extension case. Refer to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR690)>EXTENSION CASE>REMOVAL .
- Remove the rear drive shaft. Refer to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR690)>REAR DRIVE SHAFT>REMOVAL .
- Remove the transfer clutch assembly. Refer to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR690)>TRANSFER CLUTCH>REMOVAL .
- Remove the center differential carrier. Refer to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR690)>CENTER DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER>REMOVAL .
- Remove the transfer reduction driven gear assembly. Refer to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR690)>TRANSFER REDUCTION DRIVEN GEAR>REMOVAL .
- Remove the intermediate case. Refer to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR690)>INTERMEDIATE CASE>REMOVAL .
- Remove the forward clutch assembly. Refer to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR690)>FORWARD CLUTCH ASSEMBLY>REMOVAL .
- Remove the transmission case. Refer to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR690)>TRANSMISSION CASE>REMOVAL .
- Remove the primary pulley, secondary pulley and variator chain. Refer to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR690)>PRIMARY PULLEY AND SECONDARY PULLEY>REMOVAL .
- Remove the drive pinion shaft assembly. Refer to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR690)>DRIVE PINION SHAFT ASSEMBLY>REMOVAL .
- Remove the lock plates on both sides.
- Remove the differential side retainers using ST.
ST 18658AA020 WRENCH COMPL RETAINER NOTE:- Support the differential case assembly by hand to avoid damaging the retainer mounting hole of the converter case.
- When keeping the retainers aside, use labels etc. to avoid confusing the left and right.
- Remove the front differential assembly while being careful not to damage the attachment part of the retainer.
- Remove the oil seals and O-rings from both differential side retainers. Refer to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR690)>FRONT DIFFERENTIAL ASSEMBLY>DISASSEMBLY>SIDE RETAINER .
