Control Valve Body

  1. Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  2. Remove the oil pan. Ref. to AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION>OIL PAN>REMOVAL .
  3. Remove the control valve body harness.
    1. Remove the bolts, then remove the lock plate and the oil temperature sensor.

    2. Remove the bolt, then remove the harness clamps (A) and (B).
      NOTE: Harness clamp (B) is tightened together with shift solenoid D (S4).

    3. Disconnect the connector from each solenoid and move the control valve body harness aside so that it does not interfere with the work.

  4. Remove the detent spring cover and the detent spring.

  5. Remove the bolt, then lower the control valve body.
    CAUTION:
    • Be careful not to drop shift solenoid A (S1).
    • Be careful not to drop shift solenoid D (S4).
    • Be careful not to drop the control valve body.

  6. Remove the manual valve rod (A) from the manual plate (B), and remove the control valve body.
    CAUTION:
    • Be careful not to drop the check ball body and spring.
    • Be careful not to drop the accumulator piston and accumulator valve.
    • If the accumulator piston comes off, replace the O-ring with a new part and apply the ATF before installing the accumulator piston.

  7. Remove the check ball body (A) and spring (B).

  8. Remove the transmission case gasket.
    NOTE: The transmission case gasket may remain on the control valve body side.

  9. Remove the brake drum gasket.
