Fuel-Cut Solenoid Valve: Tercel

  1. Remove solenoid valve from carburetor and connect positive battery lead to Black terminal. Connect negative battery lead to solenoid valve body. See Fig 1 & 53. Solenoid should click when battery is connected and disconnected.
  2. Move negative battery lead from solenoid valve body and connect to White/Black wire terminal. Solenoid should again click when battery is connected and reconnected. If solenoid valve does not function as described, replace valve. Check "O" ring for damage and replace if necessary. Reinstall valve if tested okay.
