Test 2, Cruise Control Switch Circuit

  1. Check cruise control switch. See CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH TEST  under COMPONENT TESTING. Replace switch as necessary and check system operation. If switch is okay, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect slip ring connector. Check for continuity between ground and slip ring 6-pin connector terminal No. 5 (White/Black wire). If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, locate and repair open White/Black wire between ground and slip ring connector. Check slip ring. See TESTING SLIP RING  table under TEST 1, POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT. Replace slip ring as necessary. If slip ring is okay, go to next step.
  3. Reconnect slip ring connector. Disconnect CC ECU connector. Check for continuity between ground and CC ECU connector terminal No. 15 (White/Black wire). If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair faulty ground or open between ground and CC ECU connector.
  4. With CRUISE ON-OFF (main) switch off, check for continuity between CC ECU connector terminal No. 19 (Green/Yellow wire) and terminal No. 15 (White/Black wire). If continuity does not exist, go to next step. If continuity exists, locate and repair short between CC ECU connector terminal No. 19 and slip ring 6-pin connector terminal No. 6.
  5. Measure resistance between CC ECU connector terminal No. 19 (Green/Yellow wire) and terminal No. 15 (White/Black wire) with RESUME/ACCEL switch on. If resistance is about 68 ohms, replace CC ECU and recheck system operation. If resistance is not about 68 ohms, locate and repair open between CC ECU connector terminal No. 19 and slip ring 6-pin connector terminal No. 6.
