Test No. 17: Park/Neutral Position Switch Circuit: Testing

Road test vehicle and check that transmission shifts properly. If transmission shifts properly, go to next step. If transmission does not shift properly, perform transmission trouble shooting. See appropriate ELECTRONIC CONTROLS article in AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS.
Check for faulty connectors and wiring between PNP switch (A/T indicator light switch) and body ECU. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
Repair wiring or connectors as necessary. If wiring and connectors are okay, check body ECU and replace, if necessary. See TEST NO. 18: BODY ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT .
