Section 132 (Anti-Theft Systems): Description

CAUTION: When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.
NOTE: Anti-theft system may also be referred to as theft deterrent system or forced entry system.

Anti-theft system is designed to sound horn and flash headlights, taillights and interior lights for one minute if any door, luggage compartment or hood is forcibly unlocked or the battery terminal is disconnected and then reconnected when all doors and luggage compartment (trunk) have been locked. Theft deterrent system will also lock any door not previously locked if key is not in ignition switch.

Anti-theft system consists of theft deterrent horn, engine compartment junction block, hood courtesy switch, theft deterrent Electronic Control Unit (ECU), SECURITY indicator light, ignition switch with key unlock warning switch, door lock assemblies with door unlock detection switches and door lock motors, luggage compartment door key lock and unlock switch, luggage compartment door lock motor, luggage compartment door courtesy switch and body control Electronic Control Unit (ECU).
