Test No. 1: Wipers & Washers Do Not Operate

  1. Check WIP (25-amp) fuse located in driver side junction block under left side of instrument panel. See Figure. If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is defective, repair short in wiring connected to fuse. See WIPER/WASHER in SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article. After repairs have been made, perform confirmation test. See CONFIRMATION TEST .
  2. Check wiper portion of wiper/washer switch. See WIPER/WASHER SWITCH  under COMPONENT TESTS. If wiper/washer switch is okay, go to next step.
  3. Check front wiper motor. See FRONT WIPER MOTOR  under COMPONENT TESTS. If front wiper motor is okay, go to next step.
  4. Check wiring harness and connectors between wiper/washer switch and front wiper motor, and between wiper/washer switch and washer motor. Also check power and ground circuits. See WIPER/WASHER in SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article. After repairs have been made, perform confirmation test. See CONFIRMATION TEST .
