Section 6 (Engine Controls - System/Component Tests): Introduction
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 1998 Volvo V90, 1998 Volvo V70, 1998 Volvo S90, 1998 Volvo S70, and 1997 Volvo V90. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Before testing separate components or systems, perform procedures in BASIC TESTINGBASIC TESTING article. Since all monitored components set a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) if they malfunction, see G - TESTS W/CODETESTS W/CODES article.
NOTE:
Testing individual components does not isolate shorts or opens. Unless stated otherwise in test procedure, perform all voltage tests using a Digital Volt-Ohmmeter (DVOM) with a minimum 10-megohm input impedance. Use ohmmeter to isolate wiring harness shorts or opens.
