VADIS NEWS INFORMATION was released in December, 2004 along with VADIS Edition 2004 F+ which contains new information regarding XC90 V8 and new engines for S40 (04-) and V50. VADIS F+ also contains this information update:

2. Vehicle Communication

2.1 Use of VST instead of VCT2000 on S40/V40 Cruise Control.

As a preparation for VIDA (VADIS will soon be replaced by VIDA) the following changes have been made. The VCT2000 can no longer be used for vehicle communication for below specified systems for S40/V40 vehicles. Starting from the VADIS 2004F+ DVD, the VST must be used to communicate with below systems for these cars. The following systems are concerned:

S40/V40 model year 1999-2004.

Cruise Control for engine B4204Tx

All other systems in the vehicle can be serviced using the VCT2000.

SERVICE

To perform Cruise Control Diagnostics on S/V40 (MY2000-2004), connect the Volvo System Tester (or Multi Tester Pro) to the vehicle in the usual manner. At "Vehicle" prompt, select S70/V70 Series because the cruise control System on S/V40 is identical to S/V70 models. Proceed normally with cruise diagnostics
