Lock Function, Replacing: Removing

Make a note of the anti-theft radio code.

Remove:

• Battery negative lead.
• Gear selector knob according to GEAR SELECTOR KNOB, REPLACING  .
• Center console according to TRANSMISSION CABLE, REPLACING  .

Pull out pawl (1) with round-nosed pliers. See Fig 1 . Remove push rod and spring (4). If necessary, use a thin, bent welding rod to lift up the spring.
