NOTE: Perform MEMORY SYSTEM TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see BODY CONTROL COMPUTER - INTRODUCTION. Perform VERIFICATION TEST: VER-4A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Disconnect left seat heater switch 6-pin connector. Using scan tool, erase DTCs. Turn ignition off. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, read DTCs. If LEFT HEATED SEAT SWITCH OPEN/SHORTED TO GROUND fault message is present, replace seat heater switch. If LEFT HEATED SEAT SWITCH OPEN/SHORTED TO GROUND fault message is not present, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect Memory Heated Seat/Mirror Module (MHSMM) 16-pin harness connector. MHSMM is located under front of seat. See Figure. Using voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 6 (Tan/Dark Green wire) on left seat heater switch harness connector. If voltage is greater than .2 volts, repair Tan/Dark Green wire for short to voltage. If voltage is .2 volts or less, replace MHSMM.
