All Courtesy Lamps Inoperative

Possible Causes:

CAUTION: Always turn ignition off before disconnecting or connecting any control module connector. Failure to do so could result in damage to control module.
NOTE: Ensure vehicle being tested has a fully charged battery. If it does not, false symptoms may occur.
NOTE: For component location, see appropriate illustration under COMPONENT LOCATIONS  . For terminal identification, see appropriate illustration under CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For circuit and wire color identification, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  . For component removal and installation procedures, see appropriate component under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION  .

Testing:

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Headlamp Switch harness connector. Connect a jumper wire between ground and Headlamp Switch harness connector terminal No. 10. Do any of the courtesy lamps illuminate? If yes, go to next step. If no, repair open in Courtesy Lamp Switch Sense circuit. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  2. Disconnect CTM C2 harness connector. Measure resistance between ground and CTM C2 harness connector terminal No. 1. Is resistance less than 5 ohms? If yes, go to next step. If no, repair Courtesy Lamp Driver circuit for a short condition. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  3. Reconnect Headlamp Switch harness connector. Reconnect CTM C2 harness connector. Remove and inspect inoperative bulb(s). Are the inspected bulbs okay? If yes, go to next step. If no, replace inoperative bulb(s). Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  4. Measure voltage on specified Courtesy Lamp harness connector terminal for suspect Courtesy Lamp(s). See COURTESY LAMP FUSED B+ CIRCUIT VOLTAGE TEST  table. Is voltage more than 10 volts? If yes, go to next step. If no, repair open in Fused B+ circuit. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
