Courtesy Lamps Stay On
Possible Causes:
- Courtesy Lamp Switch Sense circuit shorted.
- Courtesy Lamp Output circuit open.
- Courtesy Lamp Driver circuit short to voltage.
- Headlamp Switch.
- CTM.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off before disconnecting or connecting any control module connector. Failure to do so could result in damage to control module.
NOTE:
Ensure vehicle being tested has a fully charged battery. If it does not, false symptoms may occur.

Testing:
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Headlamp Switch harness connector. Are the Courtesy Lamps on? If yes, go to next step. If no, repair Courtesy Lamp Switch Sense circuit for a short condition. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Reconnect Headlamp Switch harness connector. Disconnect CTM C2 harness connector. Are the Courtesy Lamps on? If yes, repair Courtesy Lamp Output circuit for a short to ground. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS. If no, go to next step.
- Measure resistance between ground and CTM C2 harness connector terminal No. 1. Is resistance less than 100 ohms? If yes, repair Courtesy Lamp Driver circuit for a short to ground. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS. If no, go to next step.
- Reconnect CTM C2 harness connector. Disconnect Headlamp Switch harness connector. Remove Headlamp Switch. Ensure Courtesy Lamp Switch and Headlamp Switch are off. Measure resistance between Headlamp Switch terminal No. 10 and each remaining Headlamp Switch terminal (component side). Is resistance less than 100 ohms for any of the measurements? If yes, replace Headlamp Switch. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS. If no, replace CTM. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
