Door Lock Inhibit Inoperative
Possible Causes:
- Check the Driver Door Ajar Switch state.
- Observe the Key-In Ignition Switch state.
- Ignition Switch open.
- Key-In Ignition Switch Ground circuit open.
- Key-In Ignition Switch Sense circuit open.
- CTM - Incorrect Key-In Ignition Switch state.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off before disconnecting or connecting any control module connector. Failure to do so could result in damage to control module.
NOTE:
Ensure vehicle being tested has a fully charged battery. If it does not, false symptoms may occur.
NOTE:
For component location, see appropriate illustration under COMPONENT LOCATIONS
. For terminal identification, see appropriate illustration under CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION

Testing:
- Open Driver Door. Turn ignition off. Connect DRBIII(R) to DLC. Using the DRBIII(R), select BODY COMPUTER, then INPUT/OUTPUT. Observe DRDOOR AJAR state. Does DRBIII(R) display DRDOOR AJAR: CLOSED? If yes, go to next step. If no, perform DRIVER DOOR AJAR CIRCUIT OPEN under DOOR AJAR SYSTEM.
- Ensure key is in ignition. Using the DRBIII(R), read KEY-IN IGNITION SWITCH state. Does DRBIII(R) display KEY-IN IGN: CLOSED? If yes, replace CTM. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS. If no, go to next step.
- Disconnect Ignition Switch harness connector. Connect a jumper wire between Ignition Switch harness connector terminals No. 5 and 6. Using the DRBIII(R), select BODY COMPUTER, then INPUT/OUTPUT. Observe KEY-IN IGNITION SWITCH state. Does DRBIII(R) display KEY-IN IGN: CLOSED? If yes, replace Ignition Switch. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS. If no, go to next step.
- Turn off all lights. Measure resistance between ground and Ignition Switch harness connector terminal No. 6. Is resistance less than 5 ohms? If yes, go to next step. If no, repair open in ground circuit. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Disconnect the CTM C1 harness connector. Measure resistance between the Ignition Switch harness connector terminal No. 5 and the CTM C1 harness connector terminal No. 19. Is resistance less than 5 ohms? If yes, go to next step. If no, repair open in Key-In Ignition Switch Sense circuit. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- If there are no possible caused remaining, replace CTM. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
