Door Lock Inhibit Inoperative

Possible Causes:

CAUTION: Always turn ignition off before disconnecting or connecting any control module connector. Failure to do so could result in damage to control module.
NOTE: Ensure vehicle being tested has a fully charged battery. If it does not, false symptoms may occur.
NOTE: For component location, see appropriate illustration under COMPONENT LOCATIONS  . For terminal identification, see appropriate illustration under CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For circuit and wire color identification, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  . For component removal and installation procedures, see appropriate component under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION  .

Testing:

  1. Open Driver Door. Turn ignition off. Connect DRBIII(R) to DLC. Using the DRBIII(R), select BODY COMPUTER, then INPUT/OUTPUT. Observe DRDOOR AJAR state. Does DRBIII(R) display DRDOOR AJAR: CLOSED? If yes, go to next step. If no, perform DRIVER DOOR AJAR CIRCUIT OPEN  under DOOR AJAR SYSTEM.
  2. Ensure key is in ignition. Using the DRBIII(R), read KEY-IN IGNITION SWITCH state. Does DRBIII(R) display KEY-IN IGN: CLOSED? If yes, replace CTM. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS. If no, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect Ignition Switch harness connector. Connect a jumper wire between Ignition Switch harness connector terminals No. 5 and 6. Using the DRBIII(R), select BODY COMPUTER, then INPUT/OUTPUT. Observe KEY-IN IGNITION SWITCH state. Does DRBIII(R) display KEY-IN IGN: CLOSED? If yes, replace Ignition Switch. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS. If no, go to next step.
  4. Turn off all lights. Measure resistance between ground and Ignition Switch harness connector terminal No. 6. Is resistance less than 5 ohms? If yes, go to next step. If no, repair open in ground circuit. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  5. Disconnect the CTM C1 harness connector. Measure resistance between the Ignition Switch harness connector terminal No. 5 and the CTM C1 harness connector terminal No. 19. Is resistance less than 5 ohms? If yes, go to next step. If no, repair open in Key-In Ignition Switch Sense circuit. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  6. If there are no possible caused remaining, replace CTM. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
