Test I: Keyless Entry Remote Transmitter Out Of Synchronization

  1. Connect NGS tester to DLC located below instrument panel. Retrieve and record continuous GEM DTCs. Erase continuous DTCs. Perform self-test diagnostics for GEM. If DTC B2425 was not retrieved, go to next step. If DTC B2425 was retrieved, go to step  4 .
  2. Press any button on inoperative remote transmitter 4 times consecutively. If remote transmitter does not operate properly, go to next step. If remote transmitter operates properly, clear DTCs and repeat step  1 .
  3. Check for another remote transmitter that works with vehicle. If there is another remote transmitter that works with vehicle, go to next step. If there is not another remote transmitter that works with the vehicle, go to step  5 .
  4. Press any button on operational remote transmitter. Within 30 seconds, press any button on inoperative remote transmitter. If suspect remote transmitter does not operate properly, go to next step. If suspect remote transmitter operates properly, recheck system operation.
  5. Reprogram all remote transmitters. Program transmitters. See REMOTE TRANSMITTER  under PROGRAMMING. Recheck system operation. If remote transmitter operates system properly, inform customer that any additional remote transmitters not present during programming will not operate with vehicle. All remote transmitters must be programmed at the same time. If remote transmitter does not operate properly, go to TEST H: DOORS DO NOT LOCK/UNLOCK USING REMOTE TRANSMITTER  .
