DTC P0325: Knock Sensor: Procedure

  1. Turn ignition off. Loosen and retighten engine ground bolts. See Figure. Disconnect ECM and knock sensor harness connectors. See Figure and Fig 1 . Check continuity of White wire between knock sensor harness connector terminal No. 1 and ECM harness connector terminal No. 81. See Figure. Also check circuit for short to ground and short to voltage. Repair circuit as necessary and retest system. If circuit is okay, go to next step.
  2. Inspect knock sensor for physical damage. Measure resistance between ground and knock sensor terminal No. 1. Resistance should be 500-620 k/ohms at 68°F (20°C). Replace knock sensor if resistance is not as specified or if knock sensor has been dropped or damaged. If knock sensor is okay, go to next step.
  3. Reconnect all harness connectors. Disconnect Gray, 8-pin connector F-6. See Figure. Check continuity between engine ground and connector F-6 terminal No. 2. See Fig 2. Also check circuit for short to voltage. See WIRING DIAGRAMS article. Repair circuit as necessary and retest system. If shield circuit is okay, go to next step.
  4. No problem is indicated at this time. Problem may be intermittent. See INTERMITTENTS in TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article.
