How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

HINT:

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 
  2. CUSTOMER PROBLEM ANALYSIS 
    1. Confirm customer problem symptoms (see HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING ).
  3. CHECK FOR DTC* 
    1. Check for DTCs and note any codes that are output (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR  ).
    2. Check for DTCs (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR  ).
    3. Recheck for DTCs (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR  ). Based on the DTCs output above, try to force output of the same CAN communication system DTC or occupant classification system DTC by simulating the symptoms indicated by the DTC.

      Result

      DTC is not output A
      CAN communication system DTC is output B
      Occupant classification system DTC is output C

    B: Go to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE TABLE 

    C: Go to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE TABLE  

    A: Go to next step 

  4. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
    1. Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  .
