Wheel Speed Sensor (Front): Removal

  1. Remove front wheel.
  2. Place matchmarks on the disc and axle hub. Remove the 2 bolts and brake caliper. Support the caliper securely. See Fig 1.
  3. Disconnect connector from the speed sensor. See Fig 2.
  4. Remove the bolts and axle hub with the dust cover and speed sensor.
  5. Mount the front axle hub in a soft jaw vise.
  6. Using special tool (09520-00031/00040, 09521-00020, 09950-00020) and 2 bolts (12 mm diameter and 1.5 mm pitch), remove the speed sensor. See Fig 3.
  7. If necessary, remove the 3 bolts holding the sensor harness from the lower arm and body and replace.
