Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU - MULTI-DISPLAY) 
    1. Disconnect the multiplex network body ECU connector B5 and multi-display connector M5.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      MULTI-DISPLAY CONNECTOR TERMINALS RESISTANCE

      Tester connection Condition Specified condition
      DR - ACAN Always Below 1 Ω
      DR - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  2. INSPECT MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU 
    1. Reconnect the multiplex network body ECU connector.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
    3. Turn the light control switch to the TAIL or HEAD position.
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      MULTI-DISPLAY CONNECTOR TERMINALS VOLTAGE

      Tester connection Condition Specified condition
      DR - Body ground Automatic light control sensor is covered. Above 9 V

    1. NG: GO TO LIGHTING SYSTEM (SEE  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ) 
    2. OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
