How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

HINT:

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 
  2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE 

    Standard voltage: 

    11 to 14 V 

    If the voltage is below 11V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.

  3. CHECK COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM* 
    1. Use the Intelligent tester or Techstream to check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally.

      Result

      RESULT CHART

      Result Proceed to
      CAN DTC is not output A
      CAN DTC is output B

    B: Go to CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM  (See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART ).

    A: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK INDICATOR LIGHT 
  5. CHECK FOR DTC* 
    1. Clear the DTCs (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).
    2. Recheck for DTCs (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).

    Result

    RESULT CHART

    Result Proceed to
    DTC is not output A
    DTC is output B

    B: Go to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART  (See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART ).

    A: Go to next step 

  6. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
    1. Refer to problem symptoms table (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE ).

    Fault is not listed in problem symptoms table A
    Fault is listed in problem symptoms table B

    B:  Go to step  8

    A: Go to next step 

  7. OVERALL ANALYSIS AND TROUBLESHOOTING* 
    1. Terminals of ECU (see TERMINALS OF ECU ).
    2. DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST (see DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST ).
  8. REPAIR OR REPLACE 
  9. CONFIRMATION TEST
