Test TC-1A - Checking System For Trouble Codes

NOTE: Battery must be fully charged before proceeding with this test.
  1. Attempt to start engine. If necessary, crank engine for up to 10 seconds. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Record scan tool trouble codes. If scan tool screen shows no response, go to TEST NS-6A in appropriate TESTS W/CODES article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE section below.
  2. If trouble codes are displayed, see SCAN TOOL TROUBLE CODES table for cruise control system trouble codes or see TEST TC-1A in TESTS W/CODES - BODY CONTROL COMPUTER article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE section for all other trouble codes. If trouble codes are not displayed, go to TEST SC-1A  .

Scan Tool Message Test No.
CRUISE CONTROL POWER RELAY CIRCUIT TEST TC-52A  .
CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH ALWAYS HIGH TEST TC-53A  .
CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH ALWAYS LOW TEST TC-54A  .
CRUISE CONTROL SOLENOID CIRCUITS TEST TC-55A  .
NOTE: A break in test sequence occurs at this point. Sequence skips from TEST TC-1A to TEST TC-52A. No test procedures have been omitted.
