Oil Pump: Installation

  1. Using the ST, install the oil seal.

    Preparation tool: 

    ST: PRESS SNAP RING (499755602)

    NOTE: Apply ATF to the oil seal lip and press-fitting surface.

  2. Install a new seal ring.
    CAUTION: Do not stretch the seal ring more than necessary.
    NOTE: Check the seal ring for smooth rotation.

    (A) Seal ring
    (B) Oil pump
  3. Install the No. 1 thrust bearing race and a new O-ring.
    NOTE: Make sure to install the No. 1 thrust bearing race in the right direction.

    (B) No. 1 thrust bearing race
    (C) O-ring
    (D) Oil pump
  4. Install the oil pump.
    CAUTION: Be careful not to damage the O-ring and seal ring.
    NOTE: Apply ATF to the O-ring and seal rings.

    Tightening torque: 

    21 N.m (2.1 kgf-m, 15.5 ft-lb)

  5. Install the converter case. Ref. to AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION>CONVERTER CASE>INSTALLATION .
