Interlock Control Unit

  1. Remove lower panel from instrument panel. Disconnect 8-pin connector from interlock control unit. Interlock control unit is located under left side of instrument panel. See Figure . Inspect terminals for poor connection, corrosion or bending, repair as necessary.
  2. Using DVOM, check for continuity or voltage between specified terminals or body ground. See Fig 1 . If necessary, check ground connections G201 or G401, ground connection G201 is located at passenger's side front corner of engine compartment, on inner fender panel. Ground connection G401 is located behind driver's side of instrument panel, above kick panel. See Figure .
  3. If necessary, check No. 42 fuse (20-amp) in engine compartment fuse box, located at passenger's side rear corner of engine compartment. If necessary, check No. 15 fuse (10-amp), fuse is located in fuse box on driver's side of instrument panel, near steering column. If necessary, access TCM, the TCM is located behind glove box and contains 26-pin and 22-pin Gray electrical connectors. See Figure .
