Lower Valve Assembly: Installation

  1. For reassembly of the lower control valve body assembly, see appropriate OVERHAUL article.
  2. Install the lower valve assembly (consisting of the channel plate, control valve body, accumulator assembly, and the wire harness extension) to the transaxle case as a single unit.
  3. Place the lower controls assembly over the forward support studs. The bolts (958) without the flange are located next to the oil transfer plate. See Figure .
  4. Hand start the bolts and nuts to the lower valve assembly. Install the oil transfer plate. Position the wire harness extension retaining clip over the appropriate bolt hole in the oil transfer plate. See Figure .
  5. Position the lower control valve body wire harness retaining clips (943). See Figure .
  6. Hand start the bolts to the oil transfer plate. See Figure . Tighten the bolts and nuts (534) to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  7. Insert the manual valve link (913) into the inside detent lever (17). See Figure . Clip the manual valve link retainer (915) onto the manual valve link (913).
  8. Connect the wire harness extension to the wire harness assembly. Install the bottom pan and seal, the scavenger screens, and the lip seals. See DRAINING & REFILLING  under LUBRICATION.
