All Interior Lamps Inoperative

Possible Causes:

CAUTION: Always turn ignition off before disconnecting or connecting any control module connector. Failure to do so could result in damage to control module.
NOTE: Ensure vehicle being tested has a fully charged battery. If it does not, false symptoms may occur.
NOTE: For component location, see appropriate illustration under COMPONENT LOCATIONS  . For terminal identification, see appropriate illustration under CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For circuit and wire color identification, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  . For component removal and installation procedures, see appropriate component under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION  .

Testing:

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Headlamp Switch harness connector. Connect a jumper wire between ground and Headlamp Switch harness connector terminal No. 10. Do any of the interior lamps illuminate? If yes, go to next step. If no, repair open in Courtesy Lamp Switch Sense circuit. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  2. Disconnect CTM C2 harness connector. Measure resistance between CTM C2 harness connector terminal No. 16 and terminal No. 1 at harness connectors for Front Dome Lamp and Rear Dome Lamp. Is resistance less than 5 ohms for both circuits? If yes, go to next step. If no, repair open in Interior Lamp Driver circuit(s). Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  3. Remove and inspect inoperative bulbs. Are the inspected bulbs okay? If yes, go to next step. If no, replace bulb(s). Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  4. Reconnect CTM C2 harness connector. Reconnect Headlamp Switch harness connector. Measure voltage on specified Courtesy Lamp harness connector terminal for suspect Courtesy Lamp(s). See COURTESY LAMP FUSED B+ CIRCUIT VOLTAGE TEST  table. Is voltage more than 10 volts? If yes, go to next step. If no, repair open in Fused B+ circuit. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  5. Disconnect CTM C1 harness connector. Disconnect Headlamp Switch harness connector. Measure resistance between CTM C1 connector terminal No. 9 and Headlamp Switch harness connector terminal No. 12. Is resistance less than 5 ohms? If yes, go to next step. If no, repair open in Interior Lamp Defeat circuit. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  6. Remove Headlamp Switch. Turn Courtesy Lamp Switch on. Measure resistance between Headlamp Switch terminals No. 10 and 12 (component side). Is resistance less than 5 ohms? If yes, replace CTM. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS. If no, replace Headlamp Switch. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
