All Doors Fail To Lock From Any Switch

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Dodge Dakota. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Possible Causes:

CAUTION: Always turn ignition off before disconnecting or connecting any control module connector. Failure to do so could result in damage to control module.
NOTE: Ensure vehicle being tested has a fully charged battery. If it does not, false symptoms may occur.
NOTE: For component location, see appropriate illustration under COMPONENT LOCATIONS  . For terminal identification, see appropriate illustration under CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For circuit and wire color identification, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  . For component removal and installation procedures, see appropriate component under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION  .
NOTE: Ensure Driver Door Ajar Switch and Parking Lamps are operational before proceeding.

Testing:

  1. Remove the key from the Ignition Switch. Connect DRBIII(R) to DLC. Using DRBIII(R), read KEY-IN IGNITION state. Does DRBIII(R) display KEY-IN IGNITION: CLOSED? If yes, go to next step. If no, go to step  5 .
  2. Disconnect the Ignition Switch harness connector. Using the DRBIII(R), read KEY-IN IGNITION state. Does DRBIII(R) display CLOSED? If yes, go to next step. If no, replace Ignition Switch. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  3. Disconnect the CTM C1 harness connector. Measure resistance between ground and CTM C1 harness connector terminal No. 19. Is resistance less than 1000 ohms? If yes, repair Key-In Ignition Switch Sense circuit for a short to ground. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS. If no, go to next step.
  4. If there are no possible causes remaining, replace CTM. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  5. Disconnect the CTM C2 harness connector. Measure resistance between ground and CTM C2 harness connector terminal No. 4. Is resistance less than 100 ohms? If yes, repair Door Lock Relay Output circuit for a short to ground. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS. If no, go to next step.
  6. If there are no possible causes remaining, replace CTM. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
